The Rev. Dr. Karl Kling serves as Interim Pastor and Head of Staff at the First Presbyterian Church of Fernandina Beach, Florida.
He has served congregations in Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Florida, Georgia, and Alabama over the course of 39 years of ministry. During ten years of his ministry, he served as a Marriage and Family Therapist and Pastoral Counselor in private practice in Oklahoma City. Dr. Kling is married to Susan Day Kling who is a public health nutritionist and clinical dietician. They have two sons and two grandchildren. David and Alison Kling are Presbyterian pastors serving in Huntsville, Alabama. Michael and Samantha Kling live in St. Pete, Florida where Michael works as an electrical engineer for GE Aviation and Samantha is an elementary school teacher.
Dr. Kling earned a Doctor of Ministry degree from Austin Presbyterian Seminary in the area of Pastoral Care; an M.Div. degree from Fuller Theological Seminary; and a Bachelor of Science degree from the Wharton Business School in Philadelphia. Dr. Kling is a member of St. Augustine Presbytery. Prior to coming to FPC Fernandina Beach, he served as Interim Pastor at the First Presbyterian Church of Gainesville, Florida.
