We are blessed to have a friendly and efficient staff to coordinate all God’s ministers (clergy and laity) at FPC.
Hi, I am WainWesberry, Pastor of First Presbyterian Church of Fernandina Beach. I am a native of South Carolina. I spent my formative years in Batesburg-Leesville where God’s grace often came in the form of juicy summer peaches the size of softballs, trips to Shealy’s BBQ, and times spent with family and friends on Lake Murray. I attended Presbyterian College (Go Blue Hose!) and graduated with a B.A. in English. At PC, God graced me with Sarah who is the love of my life and who became my wife in 1997. During ourseminary years in Atlanta, Georgia we worshipped and served at Rock Spring Presbyterian while I was working on my M.Div. degree. After seminary, God led us to Greenville, South Carolina (Sarah’s hometown) where I served at St. Giles Presbyterian Church and Fourth Presbyterian Church. God also graced us with two wonderful children during those years, Will and Aubrey June. Before coming to Fernandina Beach, we made a move back to Clinton, South Carolina to serve First Presbyterian Church. I finished up a doctoral degree from Columbia Seminary during our time there and really enjoyed the work God enabled us to do to fight hunger in the community. God’s grace showed up yet again, this time in the form of the call to come and serve on Amelia Island. What a gift! We love the people and the area and are dreaming of serving in such ways to make First Presbyterian as faithful, caring, and generous as possible. Some of my hobbies and interests include: swimming, golf, fishing, reading, singing, playing guitar, and cooking. Thank you for taking the time to visit my bio. Come worship with us one Sunday (8:30 or 11 AM). I would love to meet you and get to know you personally. The body of Christ is incomplete without you.
Associate Pastor – Dr. Doug Ganyo
The oldest of 12 children, Douglas Richard Ganyo was born in the Red River Valley of North Dakota. He was baptized and confirmed at the Federated Church of Grafton, ND where, under their Presbyterian pastor, he was nurtured in the faith. In College he was challenged further and gave his heart and life deeper in a personal relationship with Christ. An Air Force Christian Officer’s small group was instrumental in sending Doug to Gordon-Conwell Seminary near Boston, MA During his first “call” in rural Iowa Doug began further study at Dubuque Seminary leading to a Doctorate in Pastoral Care and Counseling from Dubuque Presbyterian Seminary. In the ministry, Doug has served several churches in multiple roles, ranging from solo pastor in a small church, to head of staff and senior pastor positions, and associate pastor specializing in pastoral care. He has always been very active at the Presbytery level and was a commissioner to General Assembly.

Forrest and his wife (Ginny) both attended Belhaven Univeristy in Jackson, MS. Forrest double-majored in Biblical Studies and Sports Ministry. During college, he interned under Gregg Parker in Corinth, MS. Gregg taught him a lot… but did insist on being called “Bossman”. Forrest has since worked in a variety of church settings. Prior to Fernandina, he was Youth/CLC Director at First Presbyterian Church in Tupelo, MS. Forrest and Ginny have a daughter (Ruby), a son (Lee), and a boxer (Gunner).
